The El Cerrito Hillside
Organization is a community group dedicated to preserving the largest remaining
parcel of unprotected open space in the El Cerrito hills. This unique
15-acre site borders the Hillside Natural Area and offers panoramic Bay
views. The natural springs and two local creeks support a wide variety of
native wildlife and plants. Our goal is to preserve this open space for
the benefit of the creatures that inhabit it and the residents of El Cerrito
and the San Francisco Bay Area.

YOUR TURN -- write a letter to the editor!
Articles, updates, and letters to the editor about the sale of the hillside have appeared in the West County Times, The Journal, and The Berkeley Daily Planet. These articles and letters are available on our website, along with our press releases. Local papers have devoted lots of ink recently to open space preservation issues, including editorials in support of local conservation efforts such as ours. There have also been a number of articles about Bay Area landslides caused by new home construction.
So the topic is hot, the time is right, and you can contribute to the momentum by submitting your own short letter to the editor:
The West County Times -- E-mail: wcletters@cctimes.com
4301 Lakeside Drive, Richmond, CA 94806, Fax:
